Just watching fox news, they were talking about waning interest in 9/11. I hope that 9/11 does not turn into a holiday like memorial day, where to most it's a paid day off and a barbeque.

Semper Fi.

I had just gotten out of the Marines a few months early to go back to college in April 2001 and had gone to NY for a wedding in August with my GF who was from Long Island. Going to the top of the WTC was one of the few touristy things I did while out there on that trip. The buildings, and the few from the top, were truly awe inspiring.

On the morning of the attack I was sitting in a econometrics class and our professor came in and said something to the effect of, "Did you guys see something about a plane hitting the World Trade Center?" It had just happened minutes ago and we all figured it was maybe a small propjet or helicopter accident or something. Little did we know...

A few weeks after the attack, my friends from my last unit, the 26th MEU, were underway for Afghanistan by way of Pakistan. I was fully expecting to get recalled back to active duty from the IRR... that came two years later.

I was plumbing some condos in Dearborn, listening to Drew and Mike. There is usually a good amount of air traffic around there and it was eerie to see quiet empty sky.

I really hope this isn't true and we forget the feelings we all had.

I was in fifth grade and got a morning recess, which never happened, so the teachers could all talk. My dad came and picked my sister and I up that day so he could explain what had happened.

To those of you who have served, Thank you.

I remember that day vividly as well. I was working the third shift at that time and had come home and went to bed. I woke to go to the bathroom and saw my wife watching TV in the living room and she said you won't believe what just happened. I started watching and couldn't stop. Rage filled my body and I wanted to re-enlist, but I had been out for 20 yrs. at that point and knew I couldn't because I was discharged medically for an injury. I felt so helpless I wanted payback as I'm sure most of you did. I will never forget and it pains me to see that just 7 yrs. after that we elected a Muslim into our Whitehouse. I have to stop now or my blood pressure is going to sky rocket.

I was at work when I heard on the radio. I went home on lunch and saw the second plane hit. I will never forget that day.

I was doing some work for Livonia police department and I had just pulled into their parking lot. All the cops were in their conference room watching what was going on. I received a call from my work telling us to take the rest of the day off and be with our families.

I was listening to drew and mike at work when it happened, I remember mike clark calling it as a commercial jet before the networks did. Got home at 4 pm and wanted to watch coverage but my wife wanted no part of it. It wasn't until the first anniversary that I actually saw the footage.

To the man and woman who serve this country... THANK YOU...

I was in shop class the day this happened... Working on a car with the teacher... Nobody knew yet what happened... Then we heard a fighter jet ripping through the air... We all walk out and saw it in the distance... Next thing we know... Another fighter jet... Same thing... And another... And another for the next 10 minutes...It was like a scene from ID4 the movie... We were like WTF? Next thing you know school came on the PA to turn on the TVs and watch, what was going on...

Have any of you guys seen the conspiracy theory type documentaries about 9/11? Two I've watched question how a Boeing 757 only made a 16 foot hole in the Pentagon, and left zero wreckage on the site? There are two on Netflix right now.

I was 23 when this happened. On Sunday 9-9 me and three friends left with the intentions of going to NYC to catch either a Yankees or a mets game. We got as far south as where I275 and I 75 come together and realized we didn't have enough cash between us for a week in NYC.
So we turned around and got on I 94 and went to Chicago. We watched a Cubs game Monday night and got hammered. On Tuesday we awoke and were going to get breakfast and visit the Sears tower and some other parts of Downtown. As we were eating breakfast the first plane hit. The resturant went silent when they put the tv volume up to hear what was going on.
Now mind you all of our families still thought we went to NYC. And well needless to say there was four set of parents wondering where we were and if we were alright. None of us had cell phones at the time. I finally was able to get in touch with my Mom about 1 pm. Needless to say she was crying so much I couldn't make out what she was saying when I told her we went to Chicago at the last minute.

And I still haven't been to the top of the Sears tower maybe someday.
