Default Rock Auto Reviews

I need some ball joints for my 2007 dodge Diesel

I plow with the truck so it makes sense for me to buy the lifetime ones.

Anyone have any experience with actually getting the lifetime warranty from rock auto?

Normally I would just go with my local Napa but they want $321 for these ball joints and Rock auto lists the same Moog joints for $210.

I have had good luck with warranty but the down side is you have to pull the bad part and return it before they will send a new one. So the vehicle can be down for more than a week waiting.

I have never had to use the warranty yet (knock on wood) but I was wondering the same thing, so if anyone has any experience that would be nice to hear.

How much and how long do the normal ones last? Rust is going to kill that truck soon anyway

I usually get the part number off Rock Auto, then put search it on Amazon and find the part for quite a bit less, with Prime shipping. That's AC Delco though. I don't know about parts such as Moog though. I also don't know about the warranty though Amazon. I would guess figure out the warranty on the part, and when it goes bad, and if it's within the warranty, just contact Amazon and tell them the deal. Like I said, I haven't had to do this yet and hopefully if I do, it will be that easy Lol.

Iíve never had an issue with returns to Rock Auto. I returned the Moog ball joints that failed in my 05 Dodge diesel. Normally they just replace them, but since Moog has had issues with their ball joints in the Ram diesels I bought new ones elsewhere. Rock Auto had to get permission from Moog to credit me for the Moogs.

If you donít value your time buy the Moogs, you will be replacing them. Your options are standard replacements form various mfg or super expensive ones from Dynatrac or Carli. You just have to decide how much it is worth not to tear the front end a part every few years.

BTW have you ever tried to pull the unit bearing on that truck?

I've had the unit bearings out about a year ago when we did the axle joints.

Looks like I'm gonna order through Amazon, just because I know they're return policy is awesome.
