Default Bank of America sold my Mortgage. :(

Well, it finally happened for me, too, BOA sold my Mortgage to something called a "Nationstar Mortgage" which from a few threads here, and some brief interweb browsing tells me that those indians that Montel shills payday loans for now own my house.

To say I am a sad panda is not too far from the truth. Somewhere I thought Tranny Tom and CC managed to get BOA to take their Mortgages back, but I can't find a link- any thoughts or advice?

I am calling my Mortgage guy in the morning, but I always appreciate the sage advice of the 4 wheelering community!

Agree with all of that. The problem is, the company that bought the mortgage actually appears to be worse! We were getting ready to refi anyway, so I guess we will just do it earlier than planned.

I don't think it is a real problem. The new company can not change or modify your mortgage in any way, so your payments will remain the same.

Well dont refinance with Huntington Bank--both they and BOA have their main offices on the death star---Evil fuckin empire

Honestly about all these places still sell out your mortgage--which of course caused the whole problem in the first place

One of the last pages you sign in your mortgage is the one giving them permission to sell your loan. Boa sold ours also, and the new servicing company is fawkin impossible to deal with.

I deal with a local bank owned by a family I grew up with they have been in business since 1908. Fuck the bailout banks... Also Credit unions are a hell of a lot better to deal with than any big banks.

For those in Northern Michigan--Northwestern Bank is outstanding to deal with--bought three houses with them over the years. If you get a mortgage thru them they service it. You call and talk to a local person not someone in freakin atlanta etc

Just sold a house and Huntington took over 90 days and still didnt get it closed for the people--buyers didnt know wth to do

I told them to contact Northwestern and within 3 weeks I was paid and they were in the house. Northwestern also pushed back my house payment (as sale was pending) and put off paying taxes in escrow because buyers were to pay it. They go over and above.

Of course all this doesnt help people stuck in the wonderland which is southeastern michigan

I have had flag star for 5 years. If they do happen to sell it they retain the management right so all payment amd questions will always.go through them.

Over the years our mortgages have been sold countless times. I can't think of one instance where it has made a difference. Like said before, they can't change the contract. So, pay your bills on time and nothing changes.

For refinancing, Fifth Third is a good bank to deal with and I believe they do not sell their mortgages.

If you are putting your taxes and insurance in an escrow account, watch closely to be sure the mortgage company is actually paying the insurance and taxes.

My mortgage for my old house has been sold three times, though you are right about the terms not changing, but the service is definatly worse.

Right now my old house (i rent it out) is with Greetree, I had to take them off autopay, they didn't withdraw money when they were supposed to, then they were taking money when they shouldn't, and for the wrong amounts.

That being said...my new house is with Wells Fargo, mortgage was sold before I ever made a payment, and they seem to be awesome!

When you refi, look into a local credit union. The best move we made. Dealing with Bank of America was not good, then they sold it green tree lending and that was worse. We refied for 1.50% less. Less headaches now.

I had nationstar for my last mortgage company - they were complete assholes, they pissed me off so bad i let them have the house back. I let them eat 100k i was upside down in it. They wouldnt budge on anything - I think i would have felt better if they just called me daily to say suck it bitch, would have been easier to swallow. have fun with them.
