Track bar advice

I have a 2000 TJ with a BDS 6" lift and 35" tires the lift has been on for 13 months and the front track bar bushings have worn out and BDS won't warranty them also the axle bracket has now gotten oblong. So the question I'm asking is I want to change this out and don't want to do it again so what is the best way to go? Buy new bushings, new track bar from a different company if so which one? Thanks in advance

Like white rhino said, what does the track bar look like? Is it the style that is bushings on both ends or a bushing on the axle end and a tie rod style end or rod end on the frame side?

For the oval'd hole, probably the best fix would be to weld in a stepped weld washer that would repair and strengthen the bolt hole. With the hole oval'd out, it will constantly a battle to keep the bolt tight, and if the bolt gets loose you get the death wobble causing more damage.

Any idea if the hole was oval'd out before the BDS kit was installed or if it's something that's happened recently?

The track bar has a rubber bushing on the axle end and a heim joint on the frame end. The axle mount was brand new when I installed the lift

I'm working on pictures but the track bar is in line with the drag link both when sitting on the ground or when it is suspended in on the lift

I put a jks on my tj a few months ago and im happy so far. As said above I would weld a washer to fix the axle mount or you'll continue to go threw bushings.

Check out the metalcloak adjustable track bars. Solid chromoly, won't hit the diff and $160-170.

A BDS track bar for this lift uses the steering stab diff mount for it's diff location and usually a rod end on the frame side. It really fixes the steering and any death wobble issues. It's not a rubber bushing, but a hard plastic type of 2 piece bushing with a sleeve on the diff side. My shop is a BDS dealer and I've done many of these. They usually warranty bad bushings.

This. Post up a couple pictures of what's going on, and we will see what we can do.*





*I am not posting this in any official capacity, but there are not many cases we would not warranty a bushing in after only a year. They are wear items, but a year shouldn't kill them, even if you drive like I do!
