I've had both, and currently own a zj. The zj just had more room, period. I don't like xjs because they are fricken tiny inside. They do feel a bit nimbler, but I'll take my monster zj with a loud v8 over any xj.

Since you moved to Michigan fairly recently, I'm going to guess that your zj is from Texas or wherever?? If so, being that you are familiar with the vehicle and assuming that it isn't rotten, I say you keep it. Face it, the zj isn't solid gold, but your 1500-2000 range for each vehicle will get you a rusty turd that will need money to keep/get it going. Stick with what is more familiar to you, unless it is so bad that you want to dump it off. My .002

Keep it then. You know what it needs to be a good runner and driver. My dad bought his current pickup in Texas. Some people around here have no clue how spotless a vehicle can be underneath.

Only reason I bought mine was that it was pretty clean but did need some minor work. If the engine went out tomorrow I would replace it without a thought of just scraping it.

ZJ for sure. The only reason I see to get an XJ over a ZJ, is for the AW4. However, that is way outweighed by the available stock V8's, front and rear coils/links, interior space and comfort, and that more ZJ's were well cared for in their previous lives.

And, I like mangoes.

I wouldn't hate the 44a too much it has a Dana 60 sized pinion and there are many people out there that have good luck with then
Throw a good truss on it and run it till it explodes
