It's now sporting a temporary thrush muffler until I run the duals

I went to the SOS at lunch and plated it. I drove it back to work. It has a little vibration in the front at 65, I will need to replace the battery, and the windshield fogs up on the passenger side in the heavy, but over all it road pretty good.
Now, lets see if she starts when I get out of work.

I put 83 miles on it yesterday. I was able to haul all my daughters goalie gear in the trunk, with extra room.

The downside from yesterday, is I learned why it is important to double check the seal on the sending unit when you install a new fuel tank.

No flame in my barn for awhile.

Man I love driving this car. I haven't ridden in this smooth of a vehicle in a long time. I don't seem to even notice the poor Michigan roads unless I happen to hit one of the craters/pot holes, I don't even notice the bumps and ripples.

A guy could get spoiled driving this.

Oh, and its not really a chick magnet.............

There was that one lady with the cane waiting to cross the road at the intersection, she gave it a good stare down.............although she might just have been trying to focus on the cross walk sign.

but hey, she was female.

Default Tech Tip:

If you are having issues sealing these old style sending units to the tank;

NAPA sells rubberized thread gasket material that is resilient to gasoline and water. ($6 for the roll)

I cut a donut gasket the size of the sending unit plate, lubed the groove of the tank with petro, placed the o-ring in the groove then the new gasket on top of it. Then the sending unit and lock ring were installed.

NO LEAKS!!

I have over 250 miles on it now, back and forth to work.
Looks like I will be flushing the cooling system and changing the thermostat, and radiator cap this weekend.
It does not over heat, but some trips the temp is at 185, and some trips it will sit at 205.

Seems weird to me but if the thermostat is sticking maybe that is the cause.

A few from last week............
Drove it to the hockey rink, and was surprised at how much hockey gear fit in the trunk.

I will be sending it off for detailing in a month or so. ( I have to wait until my diesel comes out of the body shop first)

I have found that this thing is almost impossible to park in a standard parking space, and somebody has already clipped the rear bumper with a vehicle.
They got me at my office last Friday.

Any plans for a new paint job in the future? I like the style, but battleship gray is a bit too oldschool isn't it?

I am in contact with a painter currently
I'm planning on silver with pearl, but it all comes down to money.
