interesting theory. I wonder if there is any other religions that have gone through such a phase.

Edit: I just realized that there are plenty of examples in the old testament of the Jews going such a phase.

July 2011, Anders Behring Breivik, Norway
151 people were injured, and 77 killed. Hours prior to the events, Breivik released a 1,500 page manifesto detailing that immigrants were undermining Norway's traditional Christian values, and identifying himself as a "Christian crusader"

There's Irony in blaming religion for the decisions people make don't you think?

I am currently trying to read the bhagavad gita, a portion of Hindu scripture that is oddly enough set in a battlefield. Even Hindu has violence in its history.

Really? Being raised Catholic and killing in the name of a religion are two very separate things. Of course I could have missed the part of history where Hitler yelled "Praise God" before killing people.

Come on now.

That I can buy. It's plausible.

"God the Almighty has made our nation. By defending its existence we are defending His work....

Only He can relieve me of this duty Who called me to it. It was in the hand of Providence to snuff me out by the bomb that exploded only one and a half meters from me on July 20, and thus to terminate my life's work. That the Almighty protected me on that day I consider a renewed affirmation of the task entrusted to me....

-Adolf Hitler, in a radio address, 30 Jan. 1945

So condemning an entire religion because of the acts of a small % of people is ok for you, but you take no responsibility of WBC, or abortion clinic bombers, or any other christian who does something wrong because it doesn't fit your agenda?

The worst religion that there is,

The faith in your government.

Government compelling it's children to hold a hand over there heart, pledging allegiance to an inanimate object, "for which it stands",
While the government itself pays itself with your tax dollars to work up new ways to cheat you out of your "God" given liberties.
Any one who resists, is labeled Extremist Terrorist Traitor Radical
They are smeared on the nightly news, chased the world over, imprisoned,
By use of the tax dollars with held from there pay check the week before they were labeled.

So- I assume you do not have a bank account, since bank accounts are insured by the FDIC, which is backed by the 'Full Faith and Credit of the US Government'.

Pretty far fetched. By that logic, since we here in the good ole USA have a tradition of saying "May God Bless the U.S.A." then every war we have fought MUST have been a religious war in the name of OUR God, right?

The OP was about what was going on in Egypt, if you can't see that the atrocities being committed by the MUSLIM Brotherhood as being religiously motivated then your mind was made up long before the facts. It's the Muslim Brotherhood, does that group's name in any way sound secular?

So far in Egypt, the MB has burned down over 60 christian churches; painted red crosses on muslim establishments and black crosses on christian establishments then trashed/burned anything with a black "X" on it; shot a 10 year old girl in the chest because she was christian; beheaded numerous pastors; raped, beaten, and killed nuns; beat a cab driver because he had a cross hanging from his mirror; etc. It's an extermination right now, and it's happening in the streets and it IS religiously motivated.

Yes, all religions have done horrendous things throughout history, but the point trying to be made here is that RIGHT NOW, there is only one that is STILL doing it. It's not all Muslims, in Egypt the MB is killing moderate Muslims as well just because they are not towing the line of the hard-liners.

The MB motto is "Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Qur'an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope."

Maybe you'll believe it if it comes from a Muslim instead of a Christian. Read anything written by Zuhdi Jasser.

That's my point. It's the interpretation of religious leaders to make war, not the faith itself.
