He'll probably end up having to buy the impact from snap on and pay up whatever the balance from the trade in for the MAC impact is as well. I would NOT trade in my snap on impact for the pos MAC impact.

My guess is OP did not pay for the impact, his parents did. This seems like a pretty cut and dry decision to me. Prove payment or pay for the product you are in possession of. Also, OP needs to repeatedly punch himself in the balls.

The MAC one is probably a rebadged IR or CP anyway. My dad thrashed 10 years or so out of his CP before it puked on him. If my impact wasn't a gift, I probably would have gotten an IR or CP impact.

snapon dont make air tools anymore either. its all junk bought from china just like all the other dealers

be better of buying an IR from home depot or lowes. its still chinese junk but atleast you arent paying tool truck premiums.

I agree with most of this. I would buy IR or CP tools before blue point. They are probably the same too. I saw the 'how its made' episode on SO building impacts. My impact is still made in USA... For now.

your impact? what is your impact? not many left USA made maybe its from the 90's?

my impact is the Cornwell tools blue power impact (aircat). 1200 ft lbs breakaway bla bla bla. its still chinese junk. I just have a "lifetime" warranty on it (for now). once that runs out and it breaks its see ya later and I am headed to home depot or napa.

Just for kicks, I checked SO website. All of the Snap On air tools are USA made. The blue point air tools are china made. Who sells all of their china made air tools to Snap On to be labeled USA made then?

Aircat sucks. Sorry. Bought one when my IR 2135 Ti broke after 8 years. Aircat broke in 2 months. I fixed the IR and wish I would have bought another rather than that aircat. I do like my 3/8 aircat.

No lol. I don't buy used air tools and would have a hard time accepting some. Here is what mine is. http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....e=&dir=catalog

I have a 3/8 drive IR impact that I like really well. Sure, it's not a 1/2, but it does come in use more often than not.

My expensive IR 3/4" drive I bought a while ago was a USA, made. I do not know how long it had been at C&W tools when I bought it.

I've still got mine to. When I bought the big aircat I decided to get a small one to but the IR was still running strong. Now here is a question. How often do you oil em? I used to oil on a regular basis but they seemed to clog up if you will. Now I only oil on leap year.

I have the 3/8" I/R Titanium. Pissed a friend off once. I tightened crossmember bolts up with it and a few months later his big gun wouldn't take them loose.

Compare my Snap On 1/2" to my Titanium and the Snap On is heavy. Sucked dragging that thing around.

I don't oil them a lot... Probably once a month or so??? My SO 1/2 I don't oil as much as my other air tools...something about a red oil bath from the factory???
