All I know is you all had better not get Jason killed by an angry gang of bees. I like him too much for that.

bald faced hornets are mean. a few years ago I was standing at our screen door just looking in the backyard.

yellow jacket lands on the screen, idly checking things out. bald faced hornet zooms in, grabs+stings yellow jacket, bites it's head off, and flies away with the headless corpse.

They are definitely rotten little fuckers. I was trimming a tree a few years ago that had a nest in it. I was mindful to stay plenty clear of the nest while trimming. I was all done and checking to see if I had missed anything and one of those sums of bitches tags me dead center right at the base of the skull. Felt like I'd been hit by a freight train, followed by a drunken stupor type effect, followed by severe swelling and itching, followed by a ride to the hospital where they fixed me up. I have 0 love for bald face hornets.

That's the spirit! Personally attack me!

Since you know so well, I shouldn't have to explain, but for those who don't know:

My family owns a conglomorate of businesses that started as a Beekeeping/pest control firm over 25 years ago. So I literally grew up around this stuff every day. From the late 90's through the mid-2000's I was the fleet maintenence mechanic for the same firm. Around 2006 I left to pursue my own ventures. First a parts business that morphed into a very profitable transport business that I greatly enjoyed and would still be doing IF my wife would not have up and left me a little over a year ago.

Picking up the pieces of my life I had my children over 75% of the time so I could no longer be on the road transporting, so yes I did shut down a business I loved very much.

Times being what they are and the fact that I needed a job with flexibility so I could properly raise my kids I went back to work for the family business, where once again I am an exterminator and mechanic.

I don't feel like I'm down, but if you do, feel free to kick me!

I wasn't personally attacking you, re-read the post, I said you were awesome at things you have told us that we are not awesome for and we should call you for because you are more awesome at those things than any of us are. You have access to proper chemicals to kill bees we don't have access to. I don't see how you could have taken that as an insult.

Oh crap, now I have found bees making a hive next to the siding and slipping under into the over hang.
Route55 I just might need your input on this one.

Gasoline down the hole is so rewarding! We have a few here at the camp that we've had to take care of. Just last night we lit one and let it burn. I don't really care if it's 'professional' or 'efficient' but it sure makes you feel better.

I've also been told that if you put a bull frog next to the hole they'll eat till they die. Doubt it's true, but it'd be awesome to try.

The bullfrog eats the bees, or the bees eat the bullfrog?

Both. The bullfrog eats the bees then the bees eat the bullfrog from the inside out.

Bullfrog eats the bees. It's just one of those things a person suggested once. Not even sure if bull frogs eat bees.

:D

I have no idea if that will work either, but that would be awesome if it did! Although I'd hate to put the poor frog to its demise!
