I was going to buy an entry level pane this weekend, but I couldn't find a hobby store close by, so I took a nap.

Traxxas Slash is a very good entry level rc. Extremely tough and the aftermarket is huge for them ! With all the aftermarket parts out there they can be made into a very competitive racer as well.

Looks like fun. I was looking into buying a slash a year or so back, but I could see that it was something that I wouldn't have time to play with. After playing with one that my buddy has, I may still pick one up.

I thought it was kind of a waist of money because I don't know what you can really do with them besides drive them around in the grass or driveway.

After playing with it it's pretty fun but I still don't really know what more you could do with them.

But I made him a little track in the barn with jumps and turns and that seams pretty fun to

My dad is addicted to the helicopters!! Some of the higher end helicopters are harder to control. He just put in an order for some more parts because of this.

My kids are into RC, so I picked up a 2wd Slash. Upgraded it with Lipo batteries, brushless system, nice shocks, ect. I admit is a blast at the dunes, with paddles. The downside is that I have as much into it, as I had into my first baja buggy.

I bought a Traxxas Spartan boat last week. It does about 50 MPH and so far I like it.

A friend just bought a Slash 4x4 after some mild influence from another friend and myself. I have my sites set on getting another short course truck to run with his. Right now, I have a Traxxas 1/16 Summit VXL to go with our son's 1/16 Summit (brushed version.) There are times that we don't run them much, but we run them more often than I thought we would.

Here's a (really poor quality) video of a recent bash session at a skate park. Bear in mind that I'm driving one handed while trying to aim the camera. We were being relatively careful, but I think this is more than people general expect an RC to do. At the end of the night, my son's truck had eaten the spur gear ($3 part) and that was it. His slipper clutch was probably too tight or the motor slipped in the mount when it landed on its roof and threw off the pinion/spur mesh.

Compete with each other by timing your runs on the track. After you guys start to get real close on lap times change something up, the track itself or the shocks or tires etc. You will have more fun spending time with family with the truck then by yourself. These trucks can take a serious beating, take it to a beginners level mountain bike trail like I do my rc rock crawler, I get exorcize and get out of the house win win. At his age this could be the difference between a cool fun hobby of rc cars and sitting in a friends basement getting high as shit and doing dumb shit.

I have been in and out of the hobby for over 30 years. I would get bored and tired of them and sell them all off. And then something new would come out and i would start buying them again. Right now i have about 40 rc vehicles and dont plan on selling them anytime soon. With the exception of one drift car i have no use for. !

i just got back into the hobby after a 10 year break. i now have an axil XR-10 and an axial wraith. it's my first time messing with electric r/c, i always ran nitro. i'm still not sure if i'm going to enjoy it like i did the last time, i may just end up selling it all again.
the xr10 crawler is cool because it has proportional front and rear dig and the wraith is a nice basher/crawler out of the box.

Good choice's !! Axail makes some really nice models. Drop a VXL system in that wraith and it turns it into a whole new beast !

Sweet video ! Those Traxxas 1/16th platforms are tough ! I have had my fair share of those !

Keep the throttle pinned open and you would of had some really cool backflips instead of landing on your top.

I was distracted by trying to film it that I was just happy to get it to launch off the ramp and not really minding what it did after it left the ground. That was our first time "flying" our trucks and our first time at that park. At some point, I did start to try to land it on its wheels, but I'm not sure how much of that made it into the video. There were a couple times I jabbed the brakes for a front roll. It was HUGE fun anyway.

We were out at a public park RC track in Lansing (Delta Township) a couple weeks ago. These are definitely out of their element there, but it was still fun. Got a couple big jumps in before we left and showed friends some of the aerobatics.

Hey as long as your having fun that's all that matters ! You inspired me to charge some lipos and go run my ERBE. Took a couple videos that are currently downloading.

Yup the park out there is Grandwoods park. Iam the moderator on the Grandwoods RC forum. It use to be an awesome track before some kid went out there and turned it into his eagle scout project and totally screwed the whole track up !
