Got the rear all together

Locker installed

I like to use the Ratech solid pinion spacer.....gets rid of the crush sleeve, and uses shims to set pre-load. Allows you to get some torque on the nut to keep it from backing off.

First shot with a .026" shim was in a little deep

Ended up with a .024" shim, .006" B/L, and 30 In/lbs pinion pre-load

Because the brg sits down in the brake bracket I had to add some spacers to the brg. retainers, I welded some shims I cut up to the backs of the retainers.

Just needs paint!

I have a question... Is there any rhyme or reason to caliper location on the rear axle?

I see them at all different angles relative to the rotor face.

I am not sure why they put them where they do.....I would thing packaging and how the E-brake cables need to be routed would be up on the list.

you can flip the caliper to the other side to flip the bleeder. I understand clocking for bleeder position, but not for anything else. I was going to do a disc brake conversion on my 14b and I planned on welding the bracket so the caliper is oriented as high as possible to keep from smashing into things, clocking towards front because it would have been better protected that way (between tire and leaf, breakover of truck would assist in keeping things out of it)

but it all depends on how you think about it I guess.

Rear frame rails replaced, used some .250" 3" x 3" angle pieces inside the rails to form a inner box and strenghten the joint.

Hope to have the body back from the blaster tomorrow.

Big thanks to my good friend Matt (durasmack06) for the use of his barn all the help!

Did a little trimming for the flares

Shot it with some epoxy primer

Gonna keep it simple this year and just build off the old ones, extend them back a ways and will be using a 1.25" heim at the frame.
