Default 8.25 with factory lsd locker options

Anyone know of any lockers that will fit in an 8.25 with the factory lsd? Or do i need to find a 8.25 with an open diff to put a lunchbox locker in it. Just asking because alot of lockers state that they wont fit in axles equipped with the lsd.

I believe your only option short of replacing the carrier is the powertrax no-slip, they make one for the lsd carrier. Unfortuntately it is the most expensive lunchbox but it is the smoothest acting.

yes and no...

the powertrax no slip is known for being the most quiet, and smoothest lunchbox out there, and they do have a model that fits a LSD carrier. the problem is that your STILL running the stock carrier. its weak, flimsy, and leads to ring gear deflection, which is the number one killer of gears. more than likely though, youll split the carrier itself, because its just not up to par. (i dont know the strength of an open carrier vs a LSD carrier)

now, for the price, your not far off from just buying a full case locker. even something like a detroit auto locker will be significantly stronger than a lunchbox in a stock carrier. if you have the tools and skill to install one, or are planning to regear, id consider looking at a full case locker. there is no carrier break on the 8.25 (well, there is, but its super low numerically) so you could always regear later too.
