Default 4.0 compatibility/ rebuild

Looking to get a new motor for my TJ or to get it rebuilt

I have an 02 so what year jeep can I get an engine out of? Which have the less problems and will work with my current setup?

If I choose to get it rebuilt can anyone on here do it for me or tear it down and lmk the damage? If not where should I take it

Why don't you just stroke it or put a 5.3 in?

I can't afford anything because my insurance just went up to $600 a month. I still plan to do a v8 swap just not yet. All the info from that thread will be useful when the time comes don't see what's so funny

how many miles on your 4.0L?
what is wrong with it?
low compression?
oil consumption?

rebuilding yours should be fairly cheap, depending on how far you go with it.

assuming nothing looks real chewed up inside when it comes apart, buy a set of rings, crank and rod bearings, oil pump, timing chain and gears, water pump, and a gasket set. clean everything, put it back together. all the parts are pretty cheap.

it should be a simple job really.
