Default 2003, 100th anniv. Harley sportster 1200 INFO.

i HAVE A CHANCE TO DEAL AND GET ONE. (( 2003, 100th anniv. Harley sportster 1200 )) PROB IS i REALLY DON'T WANT IT OR KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THEM.
Are they decent bikes and is anyone interested in it at around $4000 or a bit less. Thats about what I will have into the deal. If I do the trade/// deal I would just want to flip it fast and hope not get stuck with a bike with no value.

THOUGHTS Thanks,

It's been a while since I've been in the Harley game but I think $4000 for a sporty is kind of steep. They made so many 100th anniversary bikes that it doesn't really help to value. Sporty's are not bad little bikes. They are generally used as a starter bike, woman's bike or as the base for a bobber. The 1200's a fairly quick and more desirable than the 883.. Hope this helps, there may be someone else that is a little more knowledgable about the current prices of Harley's.

It all depends on miles and condition man.
Low miles good condition and that's a good price.
High miles and a little beat and they go for 2k.

I just passed on an 04 with high miles that needed a little TLC for 3.5k.

You have any pics or other info?

I have never seen a running sporty, even an old beat one go for less than 2500.

Your not looking vary hard then. End of the riding season and during the winter you can find high miles beat up ones all day that run for 2k. Granted they need a lot of work. But they can be found.

Supper clean low mile bikes can be had for under 6k.

Remember, back in 03 these started at 8.5k new!

The market is flooded with used Sportsters. Ive been trying to get rid of my 03 xl1200c for the last 2 years with very little interest. They are good bikes, but don't expect to flip it and make money especially at $4000.

$4000 I would be getting even. So sounds like i wont do the deal. It is a clean bike but seems like not worth the hassle to deal and re-deal.
Thanks

I've rarely seen any sportster priced under 2000. Even old basket case ironheads.

Under 2k is some what rare.
But 2k for running bike can be found.

Hell me brother just got a loaded up 03 Super Glide with 8,200 miles on it for 5k!

If you look deals can be had.

I have been looking for the "right" bike for about a year now. When I find a deal like the one my brother got Ill buy one. Until then Ill wait.

OP at 4k if its in good condition and lower miles you will not lose money.
You are probably not going to make any money on it ether. Maybe $500 if its in really nice shape or find the right buyer.
You will likely not be stuck with it thou.
Advertise it right, and you should be able to get your money back out of it in a short time.
They are also vary nice first bikes. Who knows, you might not want to sell it if you ride it a bit.
