Default A family moving out of state threw away this little Gem

I saw them taking it out by the road posting a free sign. Got some pretty nice old toys.

Does it work?

I have gotten a significant portion of my daughter's toys by picking them up out of the trash. People in Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills throw out some nice stuff and I run early early in the morning so I always have first pick.

My favorite find was a vintage Coleman aluminium cooler.

It was complete w/ futaba controls when I found it. It has been upgraded to a futaba esc but it came with all the original speed control too. I only have 2s lipos and a bit scared to try it out. Ill take it to my LHS and see what they think.

I don't think it was ran much one little scratch on the body and tires are not glued.

Yeah, check around a bit before you go beat it up. Some of those vintage Tamiyas can be worth some healthy coin.

My dad has a nice Blackfoot -- though he painted it white and never put the decals on.

I played with it when I was younger and still would on occasion except it seems every time I run it the damn body mount on the front breaks. Last time I was able to get some from Tamiya even though it had been 20 years. I doubt that would happen now.

If you have all the original parts then if I were you I would just clean it up and throw it back together like it came from the box and leave it be as a shelf queen.

Also that will not work with anything but good old Nimh/Nicd.

Damn, that takes me back a little bit.. I wore 2 of those Black Foots out as a kid. I was proud as shit when I upgraded from the rear dog-bone drive axles to Robinson Racing (?) axles.

Should I put in the AA and see if anything responds? Should I even check if its in working order? It may not be something I want to collect and it doesn't seem like its worth that much because the market is flooded with re-pops.

I have my original Hornet, Frog (Black Foot Buggy), Lunch Box (Hornet Monster Truck). They are all in parts for the most part, but I bet I could get them all running. Hornet is probably drivable as is.

What is "Very Collectible"? There is a bunch of them on e-bay cheap. They can't be all that collectible.

they sell though, i've got like 2-3 of them. They made a whole bunch of them.

also just because they're cheap doesn't make them not collectable.
