Question Trans Swap Help

I have a 96 k1500 with 5.7 vortec, it had a 4L60 trans in it that I swapped out for a Turbo 400. Now the truck wont start and im thinking it because ECM does not know what gear trans is in. Anybody know what I need to do to make ECM think truck is in park or neutral?

Thanks

U should be able to plug in the park neutral switch off the side of the 4l60e and just put it in the park position

Ok that's what I was thinking. Problem is that was left on old Trans which I don't have anymore. So I may have to try and find that switch somewhere or figure something else out

Gotcha i dont remember how much they cost new but u can get one pff any half ton truck the trick to removing them from the trans without breaking them is to use a heat gun and warm it up where it slides over the shift shaft. I also helped a friend do a 4bt swap into a tahoe and he welded bungs to his trans so the park switch worked and the dash read the correct gear he was in.

I attached the wiring diagram for the neutral safety switch, should be able to jumper the wires and start the engine. It may be a good idea to modify the truck wire harness to work with the th400 safety switch, this will also allow you to reconnect your backup light to come on when the trans is in reverse. Otherwise you would have to add a toggle to the backup light circuit to control the lights.
