Yes, and no. The restricted license of the 'combo' is 4 points on one side statewide. The regular license in the 'combo' is for 1 antler 3" or longer in the entire LP except 16 deer management units, which appears to be almost the entire northern LP, and one small DMU in the UP. And if you hunt S. Fox Island, you need 2 legal points on one side. That is the way I read it anyway.

I dont really see an issue with antler restrictions. You wont see less deer, they all just get bigger. Instead of taking 2 small bucks to fill your freezer, it can only take 1 big one.

I would be part of the 69% that favor the change.

Yes. It looks like a shitty place to try to fill a deer tag.

We have areas with over 33 per square mile. With an average around 20. What is Iowa like?

Sorry, im an asshole when ive been drinking. Honestly southern Michigan and Iowa are very similar, and I would expect the numbers to be as well. Only difference is ours are bigger lol.

About the same density, twice the size and they taste better. A deer the same size as the ones in Michigan shot out here would probably get seized by the DNR because they would think there is something wrong with it.

I'm from Oakland / Wayne county. We had farms in the area when I was young. We had / saw a few deer most were big and field/grain fed. They helped them selfs. After farms went and Mayberry Sanatorium became a "park". We saw a lot more deer. More car deer accidents too. But not as big.
I live in Osceola / Wexford Mi lots of deer and deer car accidents.
The deer right buy my home are all use to people and being feed. Most are older does. Some big bucks might make it a few years. One crippled doe has been here at least 5 years. She seems to always have 2 fawns. One year she had 3. 2 were hers and later an older ?bigger fawn was with her too. She took care of all 3.
I still don't understand the issue.
As a driver less deer is better.
As someone who respects nature, I'm kind of kill only for food or protection. ie mice in pole barn are killed because of destruction they do. But mice in yard are left alone.
