Default 87 chevy 1500 305 issues

The truck starts and drives. when first starting it drops rpms a couple times and then smooths out. will drive OK when cold but as it warms up it looses power. When accelerating from a stop it will hesitate and then start going. It also backfires. Mostly from the pass. Side bank from what I can tell. Less and less often since replacing the parts I have it stalls when I put it in gear. so far I have replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, pcv valve, coolant temp sensor on the top, map sensor, and rebuilt the throttle body. There are no vacume leaks as far as I can tell. It has gotten better with the new parts but it still has the issues. I have also adjusted the timing a little. Any ideas?

I have seen the distributor pick up ring get loose on the shaft and make the timing move around alot. Maybe throw a distributor in it and see what happens. I also had one that wouldn't idle good and act weird and it had really weak valve springs.

It only drops rpms a couple times and then idles OK. I left it for 10-15 minutes idling this morning and it was fine. The distributor looked rusty as hell so that may be possible.
