SAS s10 question

Ok so I'm doing a SAS on my 93 s10 blazer, I'm attaching a picture and wondering if I need to remove the crossmember that seems to protect the steering.. I've done a google search and some have and most don't.. Just wondering .. I plan to run a gm 10 bolt full width up front and I'm running leafs Click image for larger version

Trim the rearward facing lip and move on. Or if that doesn't give you enough room, weld on a new crossmember THEN cut off the old one. If you do this part backwards you'll be screwed

another option would be dakota springs and an astro van steering box. - it would shove that axle 10" forward of where you have it now.
