I plan on rolling in the campground Thursday morning, maybe running around a little.

My plans are to get as far as Gaylord Wednesday night, and finish the trip up Thursday morning. Are we supposed to get any sort of confirmation email/package?

I have been trying to fix a mystery clunk... T case, driveshaft or 3rd member I'm running out of time!

I'm almost ready. All I need to do is: Build exhaust, finish rear disc conversion, mount tires on rims, install softop, mount CB. Build winch mount, modify body for larger tires, mount back seat and seatbelts, install taillights.

being prepared is key. Don't bring your rotted out broken down cj7 on bald tires, you WILL be left at camp.

That sounds better than being left in the woods like some people I know.

I guess it's time my rig actually cost me money, I've been wheeling it for 4 years with investing as close to zero $$$ as possible.

After DOA I had to clean out my radiator, and discovered my fan clutch was just freewheeling (probably been that way for years since I primarily use it in the winter), and during my test drive my explorer locked up the right tire on every right turn.

I jacked the front up and the entire front wouldn't rotate after disassembling everything, it looks like some mucho sloppy CVs were to blame. I have never seen CVs worn so bad, I can't believe they didn't actually break.

I'm just glad everything inside the diff looks alright. I've been kicking around buying a locker for the front, since the diff is sitting on my toolbox right now. Anybody got a D35 lunchbox locker laying around?

My to do list...

And my packing list seems to be growing exponentially.

Definitely got a metric shit ton of rain over the past 2 weeks... Hopefully the rivers die down, but yes, you can guarantee there will be a lot of wash outs... Most of the Algoma District (Area runs from Wawa, North of SSM to Blind River, East of SSM) has declared a state of emergency due to the road washouts.

Before...

After...

It is a good idea to start each day with a full tank. I've never seen anyone run out that way. Now if you have a supercharged big block or something....

Things are pretty much back to normal as far as main roads being repaired. It's the bush roads that are likely to be washed out when you guys are here. It'll just add a little more adventure to your wheeling.
