Not a good idea.......... Mandatory. If you have doubts you can run for 15 hours without a refill, bring your own fuel. I have a 17 gallon tank & carry 10 extra gallons. I have used 5 of it a couple times.

But you have a healthy v8. My typical long gitchee gumee trip leaves me at a half tank on the dial (19 gallon tank 4.0l stock) The 3 day trail 17 trip I didnt run out of gas, it was close though! I think a stock engine, stock tank filled shouldnt be an issue.

But!!!!! Colder temps mean leaving the engine on longer to stay warm, if you are an idler (never turn your engine off when you stop) fuel consumption will be higher.

Well I got everything done on the explorer except for the drive shafts.

Also, do not try to hold a wobble socket on a bolt while using an impact, I'm no doctor, but I'm pretty sure my thumb is broke.

I'd really like to get a grasp on how many rigs & their tire size. With all the recent rain up there, I'm rethinking one of my routes but it will depend on the rigs in the group.

I think 'INDY' Jim R is going to ask some more specific questions to the participants shortly. What's important to know is if you have Lockers (F and/or R) Tire size and winch/no winch.
With trying to leave bright and early Friday for the run, It's liable to get hectic in the campground early morning. We're probably going to try and get a 'tentative' sign up started so participants know who they are going with.
Some runs could be extremely challenging for 31's. Because we're not sure who has what unless the three of us know you from past runs.

Is that a dam truck down there?

I was just up there this weekend. From the border to Trestle, the main road was all fixed up. The trail didn't have any washouts, but did have plenty of mud.

Yep, mother and won blew into it at 6am in the morning. They were able to get out pretty well unscathed...

True I have a V8 and the only times I have needed extra gas were on 12+ hour days. I have never needed both of my tanks and am actually thinking I will only carry one this year.

My point is, don't be stupid. Start each day with a full tank of gas and you know you are good. Having "just enough" is not a good idea.

noop, it was Chevy Malubu, a lady and her son launched it from 1 side to the other at 6am in the morning, didnt even see it comming, they got out and climbed the bank to safty just before fire crews arrived.

Pics of the underpass train bridge half way up the Truck Route a block from the Boarder crossing.

I did ask BigBird to come pull the plug

My commando locked front and back 36" wrangler rt2 they are grooved with recentered h1's 4:1 Dana 300 winch. Got a spare tire. Will bring tree saw shovel and all my winch tsckle. I will bring more gear if needed as I have plenty of space. Would like to bring extra fuel but not set up for it. Gonna go with my 20 gallons . I'm open for extra gear suggestions.

I want to sign up for the mud free run.

Power washing for 6 hours before we headed across the border was not fun

We can probably 'float' you down the Batchawana to save some washing time. Indy tried that last time and his wash job didn't take nearly as long!

Lol, I'm 50 lbs lighter these days. That rig is probably somewhere in the big crusher in the sky. I'm just buckling up its near identical replacement.

I'll be in a 90 Suzuki Samurai, 5.12 gears, locked front and rear. Most likely I'll be on very healthy 31's but there is a chance I'll be on a set of 35's. I'll probably have a bunch of tools like usual, some spare parts, and a winch. I'll also have a nine year old cameraman and a 90 lb redhead co-pilot.
