did they read the meter or estimate it? It should show on your bill.

Consumers gas estimated mine this winter and it was insane high, went on to their site and entered the actual read and it went down $75 from what it was, and that was mid way of the cycle. They were way way off.

x2 on estimated or actual. had an ex who had an estimated bill for the first 6 months of the summer. In august she got an electric bill for for $1,200 and freaked out.

Mine last month(same company and not far from original poster) was $154 or something like that. Hopefully mine didn't jump anywhere near that much for this month!

Mine stays between 5-600 a month. But that's gas and electric. All appliances are electric. I run the welder nearly everyday and the compressor about once a month.

I lied, just noticed it was my gas bill.

Any idea of what I should expect for about 400-500 kW a month?

Do you leave every single appliance in the house on with the AC set at 60* and all the windows open?

I recently disputed a bill from Consumers Energy, I know not the same company but this is what they told me.

"In the summer months the first 600 kw are billed at normal rates and anything beyond that is billed at a higher rate due to increased demand on the power grid."

BS probably but it made sense in my situation.

My dispute was June's bill (787 kw) was 1 kw lower than April's bill (788 kw) but was $12 more.
