Default Replaced rad - lower hose leak

Just replaced the radiator, thermostat and both hoses on my 97 tj. I've got a small leak coming from the lower hose, feels like its coming from where the hose meets the block.

After market lower hose didn't have a spring in it like the original did.

Any idea if that could be my problem? If so, can I just a put the old spring in the new hose?
