Here are a couple options

1. Cut off thumb
2. Soak it in red kool aid
3. Cut off the hand that the thumb is on
4. Watch about an hour of the Zimmerman trial(the pain from watching it should over come the pain from the sliver)

If none of the great options above work, take comfort in knowing that if left in there long enough...
It will fester , then you will be able to squeeze it out.

Good luck.

It's crucial to do this in order. Step 3 is to ensure step 1 is effective. and There's no point in doing step 2 if you've already jumped to step 4. Point being, you don't want to find that you missed the sliver after removing the thumb.

I usually just go for the tweezers, but if I don't have em handy I usually end up just digging at it with a dull knife till the sliver is gone and the pit in my finger is 10x worse than the sliver was in the first place.

I had a large sliver shoved up my finger nail once. I wish call phones with cameras were big then, cause I would have taken pics.

I had a friend delicately remove about 1/4 or the finger nail with a razor blade to get the sliver out.

Man did that hurt.

In hindsight I think it would have been less painful just to have the finger removed.

Yeah, do that, remove the thumb.

Mah who needs hands!

Operate your wife's hands by the controls from her boobs! Just stand behind her and operate heavy equipment as needed!

I got nothing useful Nick other then I rush to the hospital....last thing I put in my finger was a rotating cut off wheel.
