Default Samurai: SPOA do I NEED z-link? or OTS?

About to get my low range SPOA kit in the mail.. didn't think to order the Z link.. cant afford OME OTT.. or the SKY OTS("histeer") although its a cheaper option (not much cheaper than OME)

Can I wheel it without?

If I understand correctly I would lose some right turn ability?

Z-link a waste of money? should I just save the extra $100 for the OTS?

Budget wheeler '87 samurai rust bucket 1.3l mostly stock.

Not advisable to wheel without it. The angle puts a lot of stress on the drag link as you will see. there are some cheaper options like Mercedes arms that you can find on some other zook forums like zukikrawlers. Good luck with your build.

save your pennies and wait for a decent high steer setup...

friends don't let friends use z-links. you get a lot of bump steer from them and they are generally a waste of money because you end up replacing them for something better anyway

at minimum do just the high steer and not the cross over steering

Bought a used rocky road Zlink for a song. Cheap enough to buy and use for the time being..

Have heard horrible stories about bump steer/death wobble with Z-links.. Ive yet to encounter any harsh side effects! Actually.. my wobble got better after the zlink.

Still plan to upgrade.. it just may come after the YJ spring conversion.. As I will definetly NEED it then.

Anyone have muffler suggestions for the stock 1.3? plan to hack out the CC. (I despise the rice burner sound it has now..)

They don't seem bad at first....but wait till you switch....its night and day difference. Not only is handling but in steering effort as well. Hope you didn't pay more then $50 for it.
