I was there, still have my green sweatshirt! Awesome times! I had a yellow and primer FJ-40 at the time and came there with a small group from Green Bay.

me- Rick Paulick-my 77-FJ40
Jim Schmidt- 1978 FJ-40 Animals Toy
Tim Albers- Jeep Scrambler
Brian Swearingen (ih8mud.com) his FJ-40
Al Case...red, clean FJ-45 Land Cruiser
Richard (Jeepin RZ) at that time '79 CJ-7, now a Rubicon

Good times!

Yes, I remember your group. I remember most of the group being disapointed to find out we were doing mostly mud trails, but that you all had a great time anyways :)
was Al the one with an enclosed trailer towed by a Lincoln town car? We had not even thought about the fact that our field of a camp ground might be a problem for cars towing trailers, especially with rain on the night every one was showing up

good times, good times.

That was Dick...Jeepin RZ, I can't remember his last name off hand. Brian and I had tents, the rest of the crew motor homes. I actually went back two years ago and re-ran much of the route. Myself and about 10 friends or so on dual sports. I couldn't find the water fall, but did find the dead end at the lake with the cabin and log book! I've been out of wheeling for a couple years now, can't seem to get it out of my system though as i look at this and Pirate daily. We've been boating for about 20 years and now make about about half the money we used to, so...down to one hobby! Still love boating so I can't complain!

That's really cool that you went back like that. I believe the water fall you're talking about was Laughing WhiteFish Falls, NW of Chatham.

I ride snowmobile through Chatham every winter on snowmobile. When I see Slapneck road it reminds me of my wife giving Killer B a good slap to the neck each time we passed it.

We still keep in touch with Ethan and Andy, they never change! Ethan actually has been on this site sometimes, and they come wheeling with us on occasion.

He still wheels a couple times a year, although it has been a few since I've seen him, He's a real estate agent up in Petosky.

The t-shirts are still being worn. I wore one to the memorial race Saturday and when my brother showed up he had one on too.

Indy & I were at the 99' Yooper in his 67' Tuxedo Park CJ5.
Our first organized run, we were hooked after that.
Remember Mudshark carving quite always up that trail before we had to pull cable.
It was a great time!
