Seems like it would be hard to get good mpgs out of something that big, but you very well could prove me wrong
It would be cool either way
No replacement for displacement! Nice truck!!

You are correct. However, this isnt a high RPM drag race motor where it would be choked to death by a stock heads and a low lift cam. This motor would be lucky to ever see more than 5000rpm.Im going after big torque numbers and with that extra stroke this motor will be taking a seriously deeeep breath everytime the intake valve opens. When that happens through a smaller port {head}the velocity to fill that chamber will go through the roof. That will help this motor make huge useable power down at a low RPM where I need it.

Will I be giving up massive power by not running better heads and cam? You bet I will. But why would I need another 100-200hp above 5000rpm?

Cool plan. I was already interested in following this build, now I'm anxious for the engine build progress. I have a '90 F350 that's been sitting untouched for far too long.. I'd like to follow your engine build recipe on it.

Sub'd for updates.

Edit: I see you bought a late model F-1-fiddy to d.d. and tow with.. Does this mean you won't be finishing this build?

Sadly yes I bought a 2012 F150 to daily drive and do my hauling so this project is getting put on hold...

Im offering everything for sale shortly at a good price. If it doesnt sell I will cover it up and park it out back and maybe save it for another day.

Im just kinda tired of the never ending projects around here for a while. I really wana get out and do some serious racing in my turbo truck this year and with my Truggy so close to being done I wana do some traveling and hit a bunch of wheeling spots this year. Building the f250 would eat all my extra income for another year and really limit how often I could get my other trucks out and enjoy them.I made a quick list of things I need to build the f250 the way I want and no time at all I was already at 10k. That money would go far in enjoying the two trucks I have already.

If it sells that cool..if it dont no biggy either...

I totally hear what you're saying. Having too many projects takes a lot of money. Money that could go a long way in finishing or making better just one or two main projects. I've been at those crossroads myself before.

Get out and enjoy what you already have that's finished. Life's short!
