Default Art Carr/Winters cable length

I'm not real happy with my shifter(junkyard Camaro Frankenstein). I'm running a 350/700r4. Does anyone know if the 5' cable will work or a different length would be better?

Thanks

We run the 5' cable. Hole in floor just behind t-case, cable runs under t-case to trans. It's just enough. TJ with 4l60e/atlas combo for comparisons sake. Did the same on Th400/Quadratrac in a Wagoneer.
