Default assistance in timing SBC

Im in the royal oak area and i need the services of an sbc guru. I have a crate 350 in my suburban and i need to dial the timing in and have an expert look over and make sure i didnt fukc up anything too bad.

Just got the hei distributor installed correctly and the camshaft broken in. Its a quadrajet carb powered but it seems to shake like its missing a bit. Looking to make vehicle from running to driveable. 99% of the work is done.

Will cover gas, supply beer and free chevy parts i got laying around.

Pm me for cell#

Hopefully looking to get this done today because i need to break the engine in before hauling on the 20th

I would say the first things to do is get the timing set then adjust the carb. easier said than done. but timing wise I set it by the sound of the engine when it smoothes out then its good for now. as for adjusting the carb you need to set the air/fuel mixture screws there are two ways to do this. with a vacuum gauge or my watching the rpms on a tach. wish I could come give you a had but Im in frankenmuth and I just broke my leg/ankle in 3 places so i cant go anywhere right now. I can do my best to help on here thou.

I just gotta get my hands on a timing light now, found the reason for the shaking. Poor spark plug wire routing, it melted a bit by the header. I think it is time to invest into some beefier plug wires/shielding...

Anyways had some spare ones laying around so I managed to take it to the gas station and back with no issues.

No need for a timing light, have somebody brake torque the engine while you advance the timing until it sPark Knox and then back it off until it stops and bammo right there is where you want it
