Default Obama-era Headlines

Post them up.

Headlines about the U.S. government during the Obama presidency.

Go back as far as you'd like, covering reactions to economics, unemployment, gas prices, foreign affairs, US public policy...

US jets drop bombs into Great Barrier Reef, destroy public opinion

http://now.msn.com/great-barrier-ree...s-fighter-jets

This must be the lowest point in American-Australian relations since "Crocodile Dundee 2." Two American aircraft carrier jets tried to complete a bombing practice in Queensland last week, but the exercise was abandoned, and the flyboys couldn't make it back to the carrier with their bomb load. So they dumped four bombs into the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, according to a statement released by the U.S. 7th Fleet on Saturday. Although the bombs were unarmed, meaning none exploded, it was not a popular move. "Have we gone completely mad?" said Sen. Larissa Waters, the Green Party's spokeswoman, to the Australian Broadcasting Corp. "Is this how we look after our World Heritage area now? Letting a foreign power drop bombs on it?" The U.S. Navy and Marine Corps were working with Australian authorities to investigate the incident, Navy officials said. [Source]

And I'm sure they called Obama personally to ask him where to drop them.

Of course, it's obvious he's a micro-managing dictator.

This is not a surprise. The US has been shifting from a manufacturing economy to a service economy for the last few decades. Joke used to be service economy equals 'You want fries with that?', but it's not a joke anymore.

Simple truth is, we are heading towards a two class society. Like it or not, some people are only cut out for manual labor. I've seen it many times, an excellent press operator works hard, gets promoted to a supervisory position and fails miserably. Read 'The Peter Principle' sometime.
