Trans are cheap. 02 mustang with v6.

I have a 50% off painless gift cert and painless makes a 4r70w controller.

I guess what is your definition of cheap? Seems you cold get a stock trans, controller installed for probably less the $1000. That seems pretty reasonable to me.

Predator I believe I responded to your thread but that is the 4wd version which won't work for my application.

I guess I was under the impression that I could get a fairly cheap trans with an overdrive and some sort of controller for it relatively cheap but I suppose not?

Did a little research and I'm not too fond of the e40d. Looks like the aod has the same ratios as my c6 except for 4th gear is .675 I believe. With a decent converter it would put me at 65 mph at 2200 rpm on the eway. Otherwise I would have to convert the 4r70w to full manual valve body to avoid the electronics. Anybody confirm this?
