Default JK Supercharger

I see a couple different kits out there. Besides the obvious, what's the difference?

i'm interested as well, maybe we can get him to put his $0.02 in

i'm also curious as to what folks think about supercharging a JK that has the typical oil consumption that the 3.8 is known for

Yup, he was bragging about it to me last night.

I will call Dale, I know he's done a few. I've just been hearing different stuff between the two kit's I've been looking at.

The Ripp kit with the Vortec supercharger, it's a very nice kit, complete, but they've been working through some tuning issues.

The Magnuson kit, must be sweet because AEV is selling it, rebadged AEV of course. I know this will give more lower end torque.

Talking with a friend of mine that's been street racing and building street cars for almost 20 years has a JK now and says he plans on putting a Vortec in his JK, and can probably do it with an intercooler for about 2500.

Both kits I've been looking at has about the same price tag. Just don't know the real world experience in the difference between the two kits and what does the extra money gain you when you purchase it as a kit from Ripp or Magnuson.

Actually if my whole powertrain didn't haven't 130k on it that is the route I'd be looking too.

Talk to a couple of the Michigan guys on JKO about it. A few have done Ripp and one has done a Sprintex.

I like the Magnuson best.
Of course the most expensive is always the best.
We have one on our 07 JK (80K) and I love it.
Installed a Sprintex for a customer and the Magnuson with the intercooler runs better.

If you are interested in purchasing a Magnuson from us, you are welcome to test drive ours before you make the purchase. I just need to pry it away from Terri.

I have a 2011, and I think the only one that works with that year computer is the RIPP.

But I've another year before it is paid off . . . so many things can change on the market in a years time.

Well I can't afford anything at the moment.

But I do feel that after looking into it and reading as much as I can find, the Magnuson is the best kit to get, but it's grossly overpriced.

Replicating the Ripp is not too hard if you can machine your own brackets. But trying to find out what injectors and MAP sensor they are using is looking like the harder part.
