Are you planning a cab swap? do the cab's match a regular f series pickup?

I would like to swap the cabs but it will probably have to wait until next year. The cabs are pretty similar but the floor is flat in the F700 cab and the fire wall is different.

Been collecting parts for V.2 of the build.

This is a simple rendering of what it will look like.

This is a truck that I found a build on that is basically what im building, except on an MDT, gooseneck, etc.

Picked up this service bed yesterday. It is in pretty good shape, going to need some cutting, welding, grinding and paint before going on the F700.

Thanks, probably on our way home from Georgia.

Tore the flat bed off, removing the hydraulic ram and scissors also. Going to strip the frame bare, lengthen it and put an extended cab on it.

Broke down and bought a billet compressor wheel also. The claim is a 50hp 75ftlb gain over the stock compressor. It spools a lot faster and clears up all the fuel great.

This is the stock wheel.

Beyond awesome.

Just a question, having never hauled horses/livestock, is there any animal health issues with routing the exhaust down, as opposed to having a pair of stacks?

In a gas motor I would say definitely yes. A diesel motor is a lot better and there is plenty of ventilation in my stock trailer.

This version is probably going to have a single stack behind the camper. Maybe even put a muffler () on it. The quieter things are when you are rolling down the road for hours the more comfortable it can be.

Yeah, I know that. Two lifetimes ago, I used to own a Pete Cab Over with a screaming DD 318. And bad mufflers. Ran that for a couple years before swapping over to a decent set of pipes/mufflers.

BTW: Your rigs are impressive.

Thanks!

When I put a new cab on the truck (decided to find an extended cab and swap out the rusted out single) I may even put some sound deadener in the floor to get things quieter.

Looking at things some more the utility bed will have to undergo some cutting and welding to get it to fit a camper. Going to lengthen the frame around 2 feet to accommodate an extended cab and big camper.

I like this camper a lot.

If you are going through all the work anyway, why not a crew cab?

I have thought about it a little. Have a couple concerns about going with a crew cab. One being that this truck is going to be pretty long with an extended cab and big camper, with a crew cab it will be really long. Finding one in good shape isnt going to be cheap unless I find a heck of a deal.

I would run one though if the deal was right.

Update this a bit.

Here is the camper for Version 2.0 of the F700

Has all the goodies we were looking for and got it for a great deal.

2011 Travel Lite 1000SLRX Ultra, with generator.

The step area goin up the the bed is weak! Beef it up a little.
my wife went right through ours. (She is a big girl)
It had 3 staples holding the wood rib that supports the step/bench.
I ran 3 legs to the floor inside under the step. After that it was fine.
mine was an 05, might be updated by now.
Nice looking camper. We loved ours.
ours window stickered at 14700. We paid 9900 new.
it was an 05, but the 06s were on the lot.
