Default Recommend me a push mower.

4ish years ago I bought a nice craftsman with a Honda gcv160 motor, self propelled bagging/mulching lawn mower. It did it wonderful job for about one year. Then I let my father borrow it, whom let his girlfriend use it. The blade looked like it was used to level a gravel driveway and it was never the same again.

Last week it gave up on life with little , but when you pull the cord, there is zero compression. I did not hear any loud noises over the music in my headphones.

Today I attempted to mow with the old rider that was donated to me a few years ago since it did not run. I got it running and used it when I was feeling lazy. It always did a Shitty job if you didn't bag with it so it mostly saw action in the fall when the city does roadside pickup. It too decided it was not long for this world and the motor seized on me today for zero apparent reason.

So gl4x4, is there a mower out there that will last longer than four years for around $300 being produced today?

I've got a decent old toro I'm sellimg for 75 bucks. Same model I used cuting grass growing up, my dad still uses, going on 30 years old now. Rear drive self propelled bagger, uses a little oil, but works fine.

Briggs and Stratton engines are easy to find parts for.

Don't try for four years go for 2.

2 mowers over 4 years =$100

I have a Crapsman that a neighbor was going to toss after whacking a landscaping rock, I put a 6hp motor from a pressure washer with a seized up pump on it.

Works great and didn't cost a dime!

Hard to beat Honda. I have a lawnboy which is one of the last 2 strokes before they went to all 4 strokes. After owning it and using it as long as I have I have a hard time going to a newer one even if it is honda. I just don't find them as light and easy to maneuver. No selfpropelled on this one either.

There is NO WAY I am buying into the girlfriend of Dad destroying that mower........she should make you a new one with the fab skills she has......

The cheapest 4.5 hp mtd yard machine non bagging non self propelled mower home depot has on the shelf, super light weight, easy to push, throw away pricing, and they cut decent.
