Buy a good running used motor and gears, i bought a wrecked XJ for my wifes motor for $400 and got the motor for free after selling other parts take the money you save on a gay stroker and buy gears.

I have 4:88's and 35's with a bone stock 4.0 and it will eat a stock jeep for lunch.
This is funny.
I have a stroker. I have since changed my gears to 456. When it had stock 373 gears with 33" tires I beat every single truck or jeep I raced. At least 30 with v8s in them. Along with a pile of modular motor mustangs and ricers. After I went Down in tire size I did lose a race with super charged nissan. Nothing to do with tire size I just missed a gear.

All you guys bitching about gears must have a
#1 auto trans
#2 307 stock gears
#3 35" tires

A 373 tj with a manual trans wheels fine with 33" tire. The biggest reason I switched to 456 was for a lower first gear in high range, so I can run 2hi off road more.

I noticed more driveability from my stroker then I did from my gear swap.
If you take 190 hp motor and add 1/3 more horse power (stroker) you will notice a huge improvment.
If you regear to 456 with a 33" tire you will notice your jeep runs like it did stock. Whoopy.

You must have missed the part about power not being an issue with a decent gear with a stock 4.0............. If you're beating people racing in a jeep on 33's, they weren't worth racing to begin with.

For the doubters. Go to youtube and search for jeep stroker vs everyones v8. It's a shitty video of my FIRST time drag racing my stroker, with 373 gears and 33 " bfgs. It even had the stock injectors, pre 99 intake, and no lockers.
Im sure none of the guys I beat were really racing. I did watch them for hrs driving back and forth on the dragstrip, I dont know why they all waited for the guy with the flag to start them, they wernt racing.

So we should go watch a shitty video of people that you beat that really weren't racing?

What's the point of that?

I had a v6 300K mile 97 bonneville that trapped 114mph in the 1/4 mile, I didn't think it was nearly as cool as you think your 200hp jeep on 33's is

For the record, I've never met anyone with something fast worth talking about that actually talked about it. Generally the quieter they are, the quicker it is. I'm sure this holds true for you as well.

I might have one on webshots if that tells you how long ago it was I remember one guy at 131motorsportspark stopping after a run and telling me he felt humiliated when I went by him and that if he had a brown paper bag at the line he would have put it on.

Because I have no reason to explain myself to a guy that has more wrapped up into a overpriced prehistoric 300 HP motor than I do into my WHOLE Jeep.

People must think you are a douchbag and dont talk to you then. I've been racing on the street and track for 25 years and bench racing and bragging is part of the scene.
I dont know what you consider fast. Is a 8 second street car fast?
I dont think my jeep is fast. For a lifted dd ww jeep with a six cylinder it runs very well.

So why not meet at west michigan sand drags and you can meet someone with a faster then most jeep that talks about it.

Your bonneville with 114 mile trap speed? That must have been well into the 12 sec range. More details on the build please because I think you are full of shit.

I know all about boosted 3.8s my nephew has a grandprix that does run twelves. I just think you are full of shit.

Then your jeep must be a piece of shit. I dont mind spending money on something I enjoy, especially when my prehistoric motor runs so well.

bragging was for the slow guys and the spent a ton of money so I talk to justify it guys. I'm full of shit, I pulled the 300K bonneville story out of my ass. That's usually the car and mph used when bragging, of course being around it for 25 yrs you already knew that.
