Default Feeler: 1971 cj5

Well thought Id have this finished by the time the new baby arrived, doesnt look like im going to make it..

so instead of letting this jeep sit in the garage until this winter.. im going to put it up for grabs.

Jeep ran great before I tore it apart, no leaks or noises.

V6, 3spd, narrow track, ALL stock as far as drive train goes.

UNKNOWN mile'age.

Fiberglass tub
soft top that needs some slight repair,
soft full//half doors.
"buggy buckets" seats
2" body lift

wagon wheels w/ 31" BFG at's

good winshield frame and glass!

Jeep is sitting in my garage as a ROLLER, tub is on.. just needs dash wired, windshield frame mounted, and seats mounted.

I will help load on your trailer, or deliver within 30miles for free.

CASH: $3000 OBO

TRADE: old chevy 4x4? ford bronco 2? NICE xj?
looking for something that is running and not full of rust

More interested in a trade.

Bump.

Steering is back in, dash mounted, and pedals mounted.

Still needs:

hood bolted down
gas fill hole drilled
windhshield mounted
rollbar mounted
bucket seats mounted
dash wired
(have wiring diagram, harness is all there, very simple harness if wiring scares you)

Im stilling working on this when I have the time, and I will continue to do so.. price will go up when this jeep is back on the road.

really only interested in trades for another rig.

that looks to be older than a 71. if it was a '71 it would have the 30 spline flanged dana 44 in the rear. you have a tapered 19 spline dana 44 axle in there. you can tell by the dust cover on the axle shaft in the rear. unless someone put an amc 20 narrow track in there. that axle is from mid '69 and older. what gear ratio is it?

Appreciate the info!

I knew the frame and drive train were possibly older than the tub. Rig is titled as a '71.

Gear ratio should be stock.. so 4.27?

does it have a single stick for the transfer case or is it a twin stick? gear ratio should be 3:73 stock for '71 but with the older axle in there it could be 5:38 or 4:88 stock if the 4 cyl was in there. won't know for sure unless you open up the cover and inspect the gears to see what they are. you could also jack the back up and count the rotations of the whhel and driveshaft and divide the two i think. but that is either an amc 20 or a tapered 19 spline axle dana 44 in the rear. is the front axle closed knuckles?

Rear is a 44, closed knuckle front.

Single T-case shift lever.

Would trade straight up for a decent looking//running K5 blazer or NONboxbody bronco, or bronco 2.

Is the tow bar included? How are the tires? Are the tires all the same and could it be towed with the tow bar the way it is?

tow bar is included.

tires are all 31's, one is basically new, the others are less than half.

completely tow'able as is. Bring a 2" ball and a tow strap (no chains for towbar) to wrap in the bumper.

old pic just to illustrate what im saying:
