Default 03 Jeep TJ Rust Free , fs/ft

I have a 2003 jeep wrangler tj 6cyl 5 speed 180k miles blue in color. Runs and lot drives great , with salvage title No rust. Damage mostly to tub, "it needs new tub",top, roll bar and such. I have a rust free windshield frame also but it's green. Would make good project or donor jeep. Might part out if I can't sell. Or if I can find good clean tub with title I'll fix it?

3500..

Jupiter where I'm more stupider huh huh.
Suggested retail is 8700, it was just a guess. I don't really think it will take 3000 to fix either if u do the work and know how to negotiate.

Boy lively bunch today. I had real hard time finding a good project that was not rusted out or needed new frame so I had this one shipped from Ohio from davey's jeeps. Personally I'd rather have something that does not fall apart when I try and work on it, but I did not have any luck finding one that was a 6cyl and was not an absolute pos. It is what it is thanks for ur input.

My suggestion - if you truly feel it's worth a good amount of cash, put together a detailed post outlining what condition the big items are in. How much compression does the engine have? Oil leaks or consumption? How's the front end? Brakes? What T case, does the LS in the rear work, what's rusted and what isn't, can the interior items be carried over to a new tub, etc.

It's a lot easier to justify a price when you put specifics...otherwise you'll get the types of responses you see above

Unfortunely, once you get done fixing that you'll never get "top dollar" with a salvage title. Great for a trail rig but if thats your plan you'd b bettrr leaving it alone. Just my .02

Depending on what the history of work has been done to it, it shouldn't matter. It'll only really be worth 5-6 hundred less than a clean title rig, depending on the history of the damage of course. There are plenty of clean title vehicles out there that have been wrecked harder than some rebuilt title vehicles. In this case, the damage looks mostly just cosmetic. I'd be more worried about frame damage that was never fully corrected and straightened or flood damage.

Problem with that is it's a whole lot harder to get a loan or resell a selvage title vehicle

That's the problem. The words "rebuilt" title scare away banks and buyers. Depending on if the work was done poorly or slobbed together, it should scare them away.
