wow, that was real popular in the 90's, I'm amazed one still exists that hasn't broken in half.

I've never seen a Chevy... There is an older style Dodge Dakota or two around town here... Agreed on the Non-heterosexual owners...

I've seen a TON of idiots making convertibles without reinforcing the frame and then it becoming a taco in a few years. I have a buddy talking about just cutting his XJ top off and it would be a convertible like my TJ. LMAO. I told him to find an engineer to tell him where to reinforce the frame and I would help him.

Wait, why would a full framed vehicle(Dakota) break in half if you cut the top off? An XJ or anything unibody, yes, but not a framed vehicle.

Yea, it's a special order thing. We have a guy in my city that has one. I remember the ad once for it and it mentioned s/o.

There's someone in my area has the Dakota convertible. Looks like shit- even though it's still like new. Only acceptable ragtop pickups are Model T vintage.

I sure am glad that I never felt compelled to or against liking, buying, or driving any particular vehicle based on what other people may have thought about said vehicle, or assumptions they may make about the driver of said vehicle.

Slap a roll cage in it. I'd drive it.

I don't know if you remember when "The Truck" first rolled out, but there was some issue 3 piece frame. If I remember correctly it only was with first production. My uncle loaded one at the elevator he worked at. The extended cab doors wouldn't open. I can't imagine the chop top made it any stronger.

Full framed convertibles have extra bracing as well. 50's-70's cars had a big extra X in the middle of the frame, and some have extra bracing in the rocker/floorpan area. Think the "Torque boxes" on the 68-72 Blazers.
