Default Is it difficult for anyone to sell items or cars lately?

I have had one hell of a time selling anything lately. Mostly because people call or text and say hey hold that for me and then they never show up or text/call back. Also people are so cheap. Example: I was selling some fender flares for a TJ for $20 on craigslist. They were in perfect condition and everyone who called asked me to meet them halfway, which would be an hour drive at least for me, or they lowballed me to $10. I thought I was being a decent person for having extremely reasonable prices on things but I guess not: END RANT:

I've had my car for sale for almost a month. I thought it would have been gone by now with the high demand for used cars. Guess I was wrong. A buddy listed his house for sale and within six hours had a showing, and two hours later had an offer. No such luck for me!

I always price stuff higher on CL so the buyer feels like he stole it when they haggle me down.

I always lowball the seller, cause he is inflating the price so I feel better.

Yeah. My mom has had her ram for sale for over a month and little action. Except for someone wanting to trade for a Harley.

I'm always watching for "good" deals, to buy and keep, or maybe sell for a few $$$ profit. Most seem to be gone very quick. Don't know about stuff priced to the market, as I am a cheap ass and don't even contact someone if what they are selling isn't 30+% under value.

I find if I price stuff at a higher price, I get more interest on CL. I think it's more due to a cost vs quality issue, if they see a cheap price they might assume it's shitty.

I think people are always waiting for a better deal because they have seen so many of them. We are so bombarded with options any more and we hear about this great deal and the guy that bought something for so little we just keep waiting for our great deal.
It is crazy how much is available to us compared to years ago. As a teen I always looked in the classifieds for MoPars for sale and was happy when I saw one. Now I can see thousands on my phone will taking a poop...

I buy and sell aquariums and supplies as a side gig and I have found what you posted to be true.

If I list on c/l a crazy number I get calls,if I list it for what it is really worth hardly anything.

Sure I'm out to make a few bucks on what I sell but I don't want to rip some off.

I have had things listed and no action wait a week re-list it and mark it up by a decent amount and bam its sold.

Sucks being Honest and nice sometimes

I run into misleading ads on craigslist. I usually ask for high-res images of the item, and the legit people will send them.

I drove 50 miles to look at a ski-doo that the owner had listed as 'LITERALLY LIKE NEW", couldn't send me more images of the sled because his camera wasn't working, but he assured me it was perfect. Showed up, and his sled with 700 miles on it had a severely bent a-arm and a tweaked nun. Even though the sled was only two years old, I'm guessing if he had insurance on it, it would have been totaled.

Apparently I'm doing it wrong. I might have to try this technique with my Bronco.
I've never has so many strange trade offers or people wanting to make payments on something priced so low ($600).
I'm also glad my phone automatically sets itself to silent mode at 10pm because of the numerous people calling and texting me after I'm in bed with "I want this...have cash in hand...I will be calling you tomorrow morning to set up a time to pick it up ASAP!" People trying to drunk buy, perhaps?

Dealing with all the ignorant fukcs from Craigslist is almost enough to make a person just scrap everything instead of trying to sell it.
