Angry 1999 Tj Rear Dana 44 Wheel Bearing Issue

I worked on a buddys 1999 TJ the other night removed a trac lock rear diff and installed a powerloc. When I was bolting the axles in they seemed like I was pressing them in with bolts, but went together like it should axle leaked the next morning. I have not tore it apart yet but I am wondering if the powerloc center is wider then the trac lock is. On trac lock the axle shafts go in until they hit the center pin in diff. With powerloc the diff has 4 spiders and no pin they ride on a two piece section. Is is possible the axle are not going in far enough? If so the tapered wheel bearing will go out fast. I may have time to look at it tonite.
