I was going along the line of 2 "built" rigs..

Now I know his rig and mine are completely different as well.

I think for a rig which see's moderate speed with a risk of cartwheeling would have more safety requirements to protect the driver other then a simple "a-hoop / b-hoop"

Shut up grasshopper...don't you know he's only going to durf it into sand at 85mph.... According to bddwhatever that will be like piling it into a pillow of clouds.

I've crashed on asphalt, dirt, snow, sand, ice, and water. Asphalt and ice are pretty close. Snow isnt bad but the frozen ground under it hurts. Water feels like ice, just usually warmer. Sand is by far the most fun I've had crashing shit, even though snow is easier to dig out of your eyes and helmet.

I agree it should be safer. I will however defend it when 99% of the people bitching have never seen a sand drag.

I dont think it is a big deal... When you only have 300' to race weight becomes a huge disadvantage. When you are at the top of your feild you may not want to add weight because it's hard enough to keep ahead of everyone else. Just my .02, dont have a clue if that is his reason. I dont even know if he runs points anymore.

I wondered if he was going to piss on the Jeep or the fact that he wants it.

Blah blah blah

Go to pro truck nationals on you tube and you can watch the jeep running dozens of times. You will not see it rollover, endo, or rape any baby pigs.
Im not saying the cage is the best. Im saying it's okay for what it was made for, a smooth 300' sand track. When it is off the track, like playing in the dunes, at schuss mt, snowmobile grass drags, ice drags.... it's a lil sketchy.

Even back in the 70's the sand draggers had gussetts on the B hoops.
And yes, I've seen lots of sand drags.

To me, what causes all his torque steer is the light duty frame.

Lol. This thread is again funny. It's no wonder that this site has a million active members, yet only about 15 of them seem to leave the marketplace.

Yes, I have heard that weight can play a part in vehicle performance (I forget where), but I am GUESSING that a little weight in the form of a cross tube or two could also increase safety, chassis stiffness, reduce torque steer, etc. That thing must be real bad ass if 5 lbs of tubing will hurt its incredible speed and handling. BTW, I dont think the thing is a POS, but I know it could be improved in a few areas. If it rolls at speed, even in the cloudy, pillowy sand, that cage will be lucky to not get bent, possibly fail. Is the owner of this high performance vehcile on this site?

[nutswinger]I'm not saying these are the best basketball shoes but they're just fine for what they're designed for[/nutswinger]

Sand-O-rama. I don't remember where but it was not at Silver Lake but was on the West side of the state.
