2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited LJ FS/FT
I swore I'd never want to get rid of it, but things change of course. Who knows, maybe I'll end up keeping it :fingers crossed:
2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
4.0L I6 with 4 spd auto
HP D30 front axle, Aussie locker, 4.88's
D44 rear axle, Grizzly locker (like Detroit), 4.88's
Currie HD steering
Currie antirock front swaybar
Currie front upper control arm bushing welded in (haven't done driver's side yet)
Savvy/Vanco front brake upgrade
Savvy front control arms, upper & lower
New (stock) front trackbar
Stock springs/shocks, 1.25" body lift
Metalcloak fenders front & rear
35" Goodyear Kevlar MTR's on stock rims with wheel spacers, 1000-1500 miles
New radiator, battery, spark plugs (originals had about a 1" gap)
1 year old Softopper top (stored indoors, so little to no wear on this)
Aftermarket CD headunit with aux/USB, aftermarket speakers in soundbar, as well as subwoofer (I disconnected this)
I have the correct speedo gear in a box, not installed. Been procrastinating on that.
This is my 2nd LJ, and maybe my 9th Jeep. To me, it was the ultimate Jeep. But things change, and I have a 2 year old girl, and found myself thinking a JK Unlimited is the ultimate Jeep for me. So I want to sell/trade to get a JKU.
It's been my daily driver since I got it 1.5 years ago, and with the current setup, I've gotten 17mpg on the highway, believe it or not. Very reliable, runs like a top. Only trouble I've had was killing the battery after leaving my lights on at work, and had to replace the radiator after the original one was leaking at the end caps (common issue - the radiators seem to last ~100k miles). The ride is the best I've had in a Jeep, the MTR's are very quiet and behave like all-terrains. The brake upgrade is awesome, and driving with the 4.88's is perfect with the 4.0 and these tires. As I worked on it and did the fender install, I cleaned up and painted the fenders and parts of the underbody with POR. Very little rust on the vehicle. I painted the Dana 30 with POR as well, before it was installed. There is one small hole under the door due to rust - I cleaned it up, and painted it with POR as well.
The main reason I want a JKU is I want something more family friendly, especially for road trips and towing a light camper. The LJ could do most of that of course, but I'd really prefer the 4 doors and additional space. Also, the auto in an LJ isn't the best choice for towing. I haven't gotten a chance to take this Jeep offroad either, which is depressing.
Cash: Asking $14500
Trades: JK Unlimited with 6 speed - I can add cash to a deal, but not too much (ie a 2012 JKU is probably out of the question).
In a perfect world, someone has a JK Unlimited Rubicon + camper that they'd want to trade me for my LJ and my Nissan 350z :)
PM with questions - I can get some better pictures/videos if there is interest of course
