Rochester is very strict about a lot of things. I've lived here since 76.

false.... you only have to disclose if you are carrying

Not so. Anytime you get stopped by the police you have to show your cpl and let the officer know if your carrying or not.

A smart person. Even though may be wrong about disclosing being the LAW, you still should and why you would argue that you don't have to is stupid.

Proof common sense is not needed to be a firearms law and regulation expert.

Why disclose if you are not carrying? The officer will know when he runs you through the computer. Law states you only need to identify if you have a weapon. You dont get extra credit for offering irrelevant information.

People with CPL's DO commit crimes. A low rate, but it still happens. Disclosing even if you're NOT armed will not end up with him being surprised that you COULD be armed when he goes back to do the check.

I know a couple of guys that weren't carrying and didn't inform during a stop . They got the pat down stuffed in a cruzer and watch their truck get searched. Although not right it may have went differently if they would have said something ?
Always check you tags when coming out of a bar in a rough area...

sounds like they would have been searched no matter what, using the not identifying as a probable cause is really weak. If the officers would have found anything a good attorney could have had the search thrown out, just say'n

My dad went to court Monday. The ticket was dropped to impeding traffic. His company paid for the ticket. All is well.
