Audi r8 is a Gallardo...

go ahead and re-read the last line of that unedited quote you quoted.

Pimps like Dave drive an escalade. an escalade is a suburban, pimps dont' drive suburbans - but a junior pimp might drive a denali...

if that's not enough of an analogy on how rebading/marketing works then I guess it's time to head back to school

oh, and for Audi/Lamborghini it's not quite as simple as a rebadge like GM/Ford do.

Quote:
The car was exclusively designed, developed, and manufactured by Audi AG's high performance private subsidiary company, quattro GmbH, and is based on the Lamborghini Gallardo platform.[9] The fundamental construction of the R8 is based on the Audi Space Frame,[4] and uses an aluminium monocoque which is built around space frame principles. The car is built by quattro GmbH in a newly renovated factory at Audi's 'aluminium site' at Neckarsulm in Germany.[4]

Why do people always write off the McLaren MP4-12C? Sure, it's harder to say in one breath than Ferrari 458 or Lamborghini Gallardo (also, there's a reason its pronounced
"Gay-ardo"), but if you want an engineering masterpiece with your weekend dream mobile, you can't beat the McLaren. When I bought my first MP4-12C, it was a toss-up between the 458, the Aventador (because Gallardos are for rappers and sports players), the R8, and a 250 GTO (I'm a sucker for classics). I went with the McLaren after much debate and haven't looked back since. When I bought my second one (forgot to order the color coordinated stitching in the seats... silly me), it wasn't even a question of price. I love the McLaren styling, power, and reputation.

As for parking, my trailer park has plenty of parking for double-wides. Since the trailer is paid for, all I have to worry about is my student loans and the insurance on the McLarens. Let's face it though, when the bills come, what am I gonna pay? The student loans, or the car notes? Ha... student loans don't get you laid.

I'd say buy a Fiero, a Lambo kit car body, also buy a supercharged 3.8 Bonneville for a donor car for a go fast motor.

LOL at suggesting that the R8 is a Gallardo with cheese on it... go look up who designed Lamborghini's AWD system. Lamborghini has very little racing credibility, and it's "designhouse' has always been a "fawk you" to the world - most of the time they haven't even considered ergonomics - go sit in an old school Countach and imagine actually trying to drive the damned thing. If that's your cup of tea, then you probably have a lot more viewpoints in common with illiterate sports stars or wanna-be-a-thug rappers than the average exotic purchaser.

you enjoy that white castle slider, or Rally's Big Buford.

I prefer my cheeseburger's from a steak house.

oh, and I forgot one that I've been waiting to see in person. Porsche 918.

Ferrari's are only good for bar-b-Q's, well and maybe slow-roasting someone you don't like.
