Default Watch your dealings with thrill20

Sold me 4 new tires that were supposed to be mounted and balance on used wheels. 3 were ok... 1 tire wasn't balance and requires 30+ oz of weight to balance + told rim has a bend by tire shop. The rim never had any weights from the start, and I'm pretty sure thrill20/Will had an idea the tire/rim has issues. Seller told me he would make the deal right.... now that funds are involved seller wont contact me.

link to what I bought

When I sell something on this board I'm up front about everything I know about the item. I then tell the person buying said item to make sure they check it over, because when it leaves in their hands it's now theirs, including any future unforeseen problems

I bought a new set of the same tires from Belle Tire. They were a bitch to get balanced properly, and one was an unfixable mess. They had to order another one. I've heard others have had the same problem.

Sucks that you're in that situation but how do you figure he knew there was a problem if they were brand new? Looks like they still had stickers and everything. Maybe he mail ordered them and they came mounted and supposedly balanced. I'm not taking sides, but frankly besides his lack of communication after the fact it doesn't seem like you have a strong case.

As for the wheel being bent, how bad are we talking? I had a brand new set of Dick Cepek wheels and Belle Tire claimed they were bad because there was a tiny bit of runout. I saw it myself on the machine. Put em on anyway and they were completely fine. I ran em for a good 50k miles before I sold the truck and as far as I know they're still in use. Has the shop tried rotating the tire on the wheel? Sometimes that can help balancing with offroad tires like this.

I used to work for Goodyear....we never, never told a customer or potential customer to go to a compeitior.....

So belle checked it and told you that it was a bad rim.....but you have a rim and tire coming? So you don't know what the problem is yet or what will actually fix the problem but you make thread?

Is gy taking care of the tire?

The tires are new, but the rims are used. The ad stated the rims tires were balanced. The rim is bent so it needs to be replaced regardless .... I was told by the seller he had the tires mounted and balanced at belle. Pretty sure belle would have let him know a rim needed 30oz of weight, and the rim was bent!

I wouldn't be so sure about that.

How does a bent rim make a wheel out of balance by almost 2 pounds????? I've had more than one bent rim and it never effected the balance. (that I could tell)

Pics of really bent rim???

Large off road tires often take a shitload of weight to balance. I bet the tire is out of round. Highly unlikely it's the sellers fault or that he knew there was a "problem"
