Default 2002wj4.7-rev-c

Due to an unfortunate accident, 49 days after I take off full coverage, I will have to rebuild my DD WJ again. Looks like I will receive $1000 from the other drivers ins. through a "Mini-tort" claim.

I first purchased this Jeep 9 years ago as a repairable rollover with 17,000 miles. Replaced the roof, rear quarter, fender, door, hood, and installed an ARB front bumper.

After assessing all the damage, I came up with a plan.

The first thing I need to do is take it to a friends body shop so he can put it on his frame machine and pull the body, door jam, and axle back into position.

Some Bushwacker flares will cutout and cover up allot of the damage.

A Rough Country 4.5" long arm kit will replace any damaged rear suspension pieces.

The broken wheel is being replaced by a full set of JK Rubicon wheels and 32" tires.

The paint from the first rebuild is fading away. Thinking of painting the whole thing satin black.

Other add-ons might be a roof rack, on board air, winch, or whatever else.

This should be good for mild trail riding, camping, Silver Lake, ect.

Soooo... what do you guys think? It's no ambulance, but I'm thinking Overland/Expedition type of rig.

I wanted a wj originally and ended up with a Grand Wagoneer. I'll be watching. Sounds like a good plan to me.

The WJ is back from the body shop. All pulled out, and new door on.

When I replaced the quarter panel the first time, I saved this piece.

Ground off the spot welds, and peeled off the old piece.

New piece ready to weld in.

The accident snapped the upper center link off the rear axle.

I was hoping to have the lift done this weekend, but there were missing parts.

Lift installed.

Made a 1" square die for the tube bender to build the roof rack.

Found a good use for bent axle shaft. Spare tire carrier.

Tack welded up. Need more tube for more supports. Went thru 72' of tube.

Yes. There is some oxidation just starting under the clear coat. Satin black wheels are cool now aren't they?

Still runs great. About 115,000 miles on it. Always use Mobile 1. Had to do the broken exhaust bolt thing last fall.
