Nice work!

I've been consistently under 200 lbs for a few months now, and starting to trim the baby/beer fat off finally. 34s are getting too big, my go-to belt is loose on it's last notch, and large shirts are baggy, whereas a year ago 36s were snug and my stomach showed in those same shirts. . I wish I had a scale at home, but very happy with visual progress, and i can tell I'm significantly stronger and healthier than before.

My blood pressure finally came into check when incorporating fish oil with my blood pressure meds. My eventual goal is to get off the damn pills, but genetics may say otherwise.

I still want to get into a regular workout routine, but i'm traveling a lot for work and taking care of animals at home has me regularly moving.

Im in. Doctors scale said 280 on friday. I hate my life, and its time for change.
I want 220 by September, and 200 by the end of the year.

Is there a range for "calories lost per work out"? In my head i need a continual guage to see im on the right track. Something i can check after every workout. Reach a certain number is like an atta boy, kinda thing. I googled it and got lots of different answers.

Best answer is "not really".

If you're going to go down to that specific of a detail you will have a hard time sticking with everything.

Weightloss happens in the kitchen, not at the gym.

If you want to put yourself through a good test during a workout, jump on the rowing machine and see how fast you can burn 300 calories. The fast you work, the faster the calories will melt off, and the more you'll want to puke up remaining calories.

How often do you have a "fat day" I haven't had fried foodor drank alcohol, and ate less than 1800 calories, usually more like 1600, and walked 2-2.5 miles a day for the last 2 weeks. Today I treated myself to bdubs and some rum and iced teas. How often do you endulge on your diet? Is twice a month too much?

best thing is just to eat less calories, working out is good for you but it doesn't necessarily make you lose weight, you remember how I looked, when I went on my diet I cut my calories to 1600 per day, all fresh fruits and veggies, very little meat or pasta and no sugar / candy junk food ect, and in the first 3 months dropped 45lbs sitting on my couch (the weight was giving ankle and foot problems), I felt better then so I started walking and riding my mountain bike every day or at least 5 days a week, as time went on I went up to 1800 ish calorie a day, after 51weeks I dropped a total of 96lbs, and if I can do it Al anybody can, I got to tell you going from 4x to large shirts and a 46in waist to a 34 feels pretty damn good.

I usually gave myself one day a week when it was ok to be "bad" if your too strict you tend to give up on it, also be patient, I cant tell you how many people would tell me " I dieted for like 2 weeks but I wasn't getting anywhere" it takes time you have to force your body into burning those fat stores and that doesn't happen instantly

I have found that if I have a "bad" day it kills my weight loss for a week. I have been in this rut since snofari. I am good and seeing progress & then splurge. It will bump me up 2-3 pounds quicker than I imagined. I was true to myself for 3 months & lost 30 pounds. The last 6 weeks are status quo.

3500 calories typically translates into 1 lb of body weight, theoretically.

It doesn't take very many beers, treats, or snacks to add 3500 calories to your week very easily.

Exactly. Last night we went to the wings game. Pizza, pop and an ice cream pretty much blew the weight loss of the last 3-4 days. The key for me is that I know what I can and can't do.......... now I just need to stick to it.

I started walking 2 miles a day on the treadmill with a full incline on Tuesday. Idk if it's doing anything but i feel better. My fat day is usually Friday night and it's all beer, but after a few beers i get out on the dance floor and really look like a jackass so I know I'm burning calories doing that which helps lol

I'm jumping back into this.

245lbs, I need to lose about 50 to get back to where I was 10 years ago. I'm tired of paying the 'fat tax' buying XXL T-shirts.

No real goal date, more of a change of lifestyle that I can stick to. I just need to look for better restaurants since I rarely have a chance to have a home cooked meal.

I figure if I can make the change, I won't have the temptation to 'fall off the wagon'. I'm really looking forward to taking this thing out of the rafters this summer. I miss bicycling.

I am at a Plato... I slacked off on my fitness pal entry and also my water intake.. I need to screw my head on tighter and buckle down ..I do 3 days of weight lifting and 5 of lighter cardio. I think I need to get more sleep too, but going without caffeine for over 2 1/2 years is a killer.. Also no carbonation or sugars.. My life is so boring!

you are not burning more calories dancing then the beers your drinking giving you the courage to dance.

2 miles on the treadmill is good, but instead of walking do some intervals running, you'll burn many more calories and burn much more fat

I know my calories burned are lower than the intake from the beer.

I am going to try and work up the running. I haven't been this physical since my last job. It will take me a couple weeks to get up to the running pace. The fact that it's getting warmer out will give me motivation to get out and run around the neighborhood.

Along with that, my diet is getting much better. More organics and more fiber. Portions are getting smaller as my appetite is slowly shrinking. My workout isn't crazy so I feel with the calories I intake daily, what I burn when I walk at night is probably just enough to not over do it.

Going to possibly up the calorie intake and start doing more ab and arm workouts. Trying to get toned for the Dominican Republic in November

Life is short, even shorter if you don't do anything with it. Diets are fine but enjoy life. If you need to take a fat day or two a month, go for it. As long as you stick to your long term plan, you're just doing it your own way. We're all only one car accident/misfortune away from diets no longer mattering so make the most of it.
