For the past year, I've been averaging 247/248 and as high as 252. When I posted 3 weeks ago that I was going to make an effort, I was 247. I hit 236 last Wednesday (20 days later) and even with Thanksgiving, dinner & a hockey game, & twice out with friends for dinner and a beer, I've managed to stay at 237 all weekend. I cannot say when I was below 240 but it's been years. I'm encouraged and back at it today. If I could hit 225/230 by Christmas I will be delighted.

You're better off to eat often, small, healthy meals, then you are to eat less often.

Change what you eat. Eat proper sized portions, don't skip meals.

You miss the point. My morning snack has always been a package of Famous Amos cookies with my coffee.

I am also skipping my afternoon snack which usually consisted of a Coke & either a bag of chips or a Snickers bar out of the vending machines. Lunch is no longer a burger and fries, it's a couple cheese sticks & light crackers & a piece of fruit. I have had a total of 1 Coke Since Nov 7th. (well, other than with a couple rums LOL) Although I've never been a big water fan, I am drinking coffee in the morning, a tea now and then and the rest of the time water.

Ugh my scale went up 3lbs after the holidays. I felt so huge like a beast though. I worked out twice today already and I went back to my normal strictness. I don't often have set backs but when I do I don't take them well. I was thinking all of the yardwork I did would have offset any extra calories I took in. I was so sore from raking this morning it hurts to breathe but I still worked out.

congrats to all of you on the hard work in losing weight, and getting healthier!

at my worst i was 265lbs(thats huge at 5'6"). right now im about 172lbs. losing any more has become very difficult! i do my sit ups, and my pushups everyday. my diet is much better than it used to be, and much smaller. laying off "most" of the the beer helped alot!

I lost 5 lbs during my week off, down to 260, back to work and snacking all day though. At least it is oranges & apples. I've been staying at about 270 for the past few years, working too much the past few years do to much riding. I make it a point to get out and walk the dogs every day and have been going further & further every chance I get. I would be happy to be under 250 by spring time.
