Question where to buy garage door opener parts

i have a liftmaster door opener that i need to replace the lift gears its $30 in parts and would rather buy them locally but i cant find any place to buy them.

Does anyone know of a local place to get the parts? I am in White Lake but drive to Aurburn hills everyday so some place close to either or in the middle would be great.

Thanks

Send a Pm to tom77cj5. He installs and repairs garage doors for a living.

I had stripped gears in mine, just bought them from a garage door install company, but they were more $$$ than the internet ones including shipping, but I needed my shit fixed quick.

I think most problems are just stripped gears. I did mine through an internet company and it worked perfect. You should be able to find parts locally since liftmaster, craftsmen and a few others take the same parts.

Usually around the ten year mark. Chaimberlain makes sear , liftmaster, and many other knock offs. I do around 6-12 gears a week on average. I have the parts they cost me 35 $ amazons a little cheaper if you can get free shipping and no tax

Do you know of any place i can get parts close to me?

The opener is about 14 years old, both of mine are, one works ( the one used the most) the other doesnt I know its just the gears that need to be replaced i just like to help local guys out.

If anyone can give me a place closer than berkly i will go there. If i have to order online I will be buying two replacement kits, if i can go locally i will just fix the one broken for now. Its not a matter of cheaper it just easier to work with someone closer if i end up needed more parts in the future, I hate how the internet has made it that no one sells anything locally anymore, it has put all the little guys out of business.
