I have owned three 5.3 liter trucks, they all average about 8-10 with a vehicle on a car hauler.

My new truck has the 6 speed, and i can say from a transmission standpoint it does a nice job of keeping the RPM lower and less monster downshifts.

I want one but I wanted to spend like half that at most - the ones on ebay for considerably cheaper are most likely junk.
